Defined by my actions

Happen on Life or Life will happen on you – Having said that life happened on me, and it did so in a bloody big way.

Defeating the stats of certain death – and becoming part of the cure equation in a cancer that cannot be beaten – until now.
So let’s get facts upfront and out of the way from the get go – It’s an unenviable list of credits to have aligned to my name
2002 – Belspalsy

2010 – Diverticulitis – lucky , no cancer
2012 – I crash in a cycle race an break my Neck at the C6 leaving me paralysed down my right side from head to hip for 9 months
2013 – The Kangaroo – yip first ride back on my bike I have a head on with a big Roo-
2016 – Cholangiocarcinoma and it’s terminal, average survival is just 6.7months and 5 yr survival is less than 8%
2017 – An Aneurysm to my main hepatic Artery – I had minutes to live
2017 – 25 hrs of major surgeries.
2017 July – It’s Metastatic & 1%. I now have weeks if not days
2016 – 2018 – 23 Months of intense and debilitating chemo and Immunotherapy including
2017 – August -A Hail Mary pass called Keytruda from Merck in California

Defined by my story

Defining myself through my story and where I am headed is so so powerful and important to me – having that choice is what drives me.

I have been beaten, raped and left for dead, yet I still live to tell the tale, you do not forget, you cannot forget. These Experiences, Knowledge and Wisdoms are who you become, they give you a sharper perspective on what can be achieved.

In the wash up I would describe myself as the classic modern day ‘Active Lifestyler’ with a good measure of entrepreneurialistic aspirations, which really means I am over 50 and clinging to my diminishing youth.

Living on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia, is a pretty cool place to give life your best go –
I am incredible lucky  to be married  nearly 40 years, with 2 wonder kids.

That’s my story, and I am sure there will be more to add as I move forward.

The one big thing that sticks with me through all this – We all have the full freedom of choice, to live life until our last breath -that/s a pretty empowering thought to prop me up when things get tough.
